Vibration
Vibrating elements connect with the air and create noise. By controlling this vibration, the resulting noise is also controlled. Vibration control is a fundamental element of noise control. All noise comes from vibration, however not all vibration becomes airborne noise. This is especially true of powerful low frequency vibrations which are below the frequency range of normal human hearing. These vibrations can still impact human beings in a variety of ways. Building vibration which impacts occupied spaces can be annoying, disruptive, and prohibit work efforts. Sources of building vibration include ground transportation, mechanical equipment, and, believe it or not, human beings. Control of this vibration comes through proper analysis of the vibration source, building design, and mechanical system design. Phoenix NV is capable of carrying out such analysis for planned buildings as well as measuring the vibration levels of existing buildings.
