Phoenix Noise & Vibration works with architects and designers to design healthcare facilities which exhibit appropriate acoustical environments for the intended use. The 2010 Facilities Guideline Institute (FGI) Guidelines specify criteria for acoustics and vibration within healthcares settings. In conjunction with this the Green Guide for Healthcare outlines similar acoustical criteria for meeting certain sustainability requirements while maintaining appropriate acoustical environments.
Additionally HIPPA regulations protect the privacy of patient medical records and information. Proper acoustical privacy is required to allow discussion of such information.

Hospitals require low vibration levels to properly operate MRI's, surgical microscopes, and other imaging devices. What was once relegated to the basement (where vibration levels are low) is now being placed on upper floors due to space limitations and convenience.
Building designs for healthcare and hospitals must include consideration of vibration impact on such instrumentation. Phoenix NV is capable of aiding architects and structural engineers in the design process to ensure achievement of vibration specifications of particular instrumentation. Structures can be computer modeled to determine response to various input sources such as HVAC, transportation, and footfalls.
For existing facilities, Phoenix NV can provide vibration measurement
surveys to determine current vibration levels in a floor system. This is
especially helpful in determining the feasibility of a room for housing
particular vibration sensitive equipment. PNV also offers remedial design
work for rooms which do not meet specifications.
